Description
This icon was written/painted by one of our forum members, 70x7 (Ray) in honor of the nun/martyr of Paris and Ravensbruck Concentration Camp, Saint Maria +31 March, 1945. She along with four others were glorified by the Ecumenical Patriarchate in May 2004. Some background on her and the others can be found at this website.

She is a great Saint. Get the book by Jim Forest for your kids or any kids you love in your life! Her story is deeply moving.

She is a great saint! As a "fulfilled" Jew I find her to be one of my favorite saints to invoke as she protected Jews.

How blessed we are to have yet another follower of Christ who did the "right thing" in loving God and loving one's neighbor. Too often we focus on the upper-level folks and the mucky-mucks. And here is a woman who just prayed and did what the Holy Spirit inspired her to do according to the Gospel. Would that the rest of us could have her graces.

Lord, be merciful to us.
