XB! And I believe that St. Vladimir's, another of Northeastern Pennsylvania's spiritual and architectural gems, is celebrating its centennial in 2008.

To Phillipe: Thank you and God Bless You!

To John: St. Vladimir parish is celebrating its Centennial this year. Today is our 100th Easter in gratitude to the immigrants from Ukraine. Their memory is everlasting

Wow, I love how the Icon was draped over the main Church setting...to show the Resurrection of Christ. How nice.

I especially love how lights beamed onto Christ and it really looks like it's real...that Christ is really radiating light out of Him onto all of us with His Resurrection.

That is sooo COOL!!! 8)

Dear spdundas:
Ordinarily the large icon behind the main altar of St. Vladimir Church [Scranton PA] is that of Christ Crucified. However, During the Christmas season we display a beautiful Icon of the Nativity and during the Easter season the Icon of Our Lord's Resurrection.
I'll post those photos.
Am delighted that you like what we do at St. Vladimir's - it's a wonderful parish filled with kind, caring people and a pastor who is deeply loved.
God bless you.

I also very much like the large icons behind the altar. Beautiful church.

Slava Isusu Khrestu

The icon on the tetrapod looks so very familiar!

Is it one of the "Monastery Icons"?????????????????????

Please tell me it is not for I compared them and, as best I can I would say..... it is!! Monastery icons have a rather shady history unfortunately.

Some of parishoners from the Ukrainian church close to us here purchased two of their icons many years a go from this site "Monastery Icons" but their priest got rid of them when they found out from whence they came. He explained the reasons.

Garajotsi:

I could be mistaken, but it also looks like a print that I obtained some years ago from St. Vladimir's Seminary in NY. So Monastery icons may have copied something already in circulation.
