The closing Divine Liturgy was served on Dec 11, 2011. In tribute to and memory of its sister parish, St Nicholas in Barberton hosts a page of photos taken that day at its Facebook site.

Many years,

Neil

Thank you Neil and Dr. Henry P, thats why our site is trying to preserve all this history via photos and historical documentation. It is the same sadly for Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in Cleveland, Ohio, a magnificient edifice but, they just could not maintain it any longer, the final liturgy was held on November 1, 2009 and the video of this http://youtu.be/htAXjNE0APo is so sad and heartbreaking to watch.

Since the baptismal font and iconostas have ended up in other parishes, I hope the chandelier soon goes to another parish also.

Jim,

Do you know where the baptismal font was relocated?

The chandelier, as I recollect, is considered particularly exquisite. Am I right on that?

Many years,

Neil

Neil,

You are very correct about the chandelier, if you go to our site http://www.tccweb.org/ourchurches.htm#Saint_Gregory_the_Theologian_Byzantine_Catholic_Church you can see a portion of it (third photo down), I will have to search our files for the original shot which is much larger (we scanned it down for the article), it is high quality artwork and very beautiful.

Thanks, Joy - I think that was the photo that I first saw of it.

The chandelier went to St. Stephen's parish in Euclid, Ohio. The altar, cross, ripidia and tabernacle will go on display at the cathedral museum.

Jim,

Wonderful news that all of this was preserved and the iconostasis and chandelier will be out to use!
