Thanks to the good offices of the Sisters of St Basil, two events have been scheduled for Byzantine Catholic Young Adults (18-25) in the Pittsburgh Metropolia. The first is a day of reflection on May 24, from 10am to 4pm, in the newly renovated space which the sisters are dedicating to youth ministry at Mount St Macrina. The theme is "Beyond ByzanTeen-hood: Growing up into Christ" (Ephesians 4,13). It will take the form of guided reflection and discussion. The Sisters have kindly offered Friday night accommodations for anyone traveling a distance.
A weekend retreat, which will be led by Sr. Barbara Jean OSBM and me, is also being planned for the fall.
To register, please contact Sr. Barbara Jean at Mt. St. Macrina, 724-438-7149. Please spread the word among Byzantine Catholics between the ages of 18 and 25.
Christ is Risen!

Glory to the Risen Christ, Father! I've shared your post with the young adults in our parish (Gilbert, AZ) received whistful looks knowing the distance would be a problem. Has any consideration been given to possibly taping some of the workshops/talks with the hopes of sharing them long distance to those who can't make it? And do you know if the Sisters are planning a formal dedication of the Youth Center?

This sounds like a wonderful event.

I'm also in the Van Nuys Eparchy and would be interested in tapes and any printed materials from the event to share in our parish.
