CHRIST IS RISEN! Reading the Byzantine Forum Online I came into such consideration: there are no Byzantine Catholic teens in America! There are people interested in "Byzantine Faith & Worship" (725 posts at the moment), relationshpis between East & West (302 posts), "Byzantine News" (197 posts) and so on. But "Byzan-Teen" life contains only 6 posts! Is the Byzantine Catholicism in America a religion of people in age no less than 20? Or maybe Byzan-Teens are not interested in discussing their specific problems here? (I cannot even think they have no access to the Web!) So, what's the reason of such situation? Peter, "older than 20"

I personally don't know of any Byzan-teens. But I am a teen, and seriously considering entering the Byzantine Catholic Church.

May the Holy Trinity be with us always.

There are a plenty of Byzantine Catholic teens in America. Unfortunately, we don't hear from many of them on here.

I am a Roman Catholic teen! I don't know if that counts or not.

Dear All:

There is some discussion concerning the relative small number of Byzantine Catholics in this country who are teenagers. I suspect a great deal of this problem may be due to the fact that Eastern Catholics are very numerically small, and our particular age group may even be a specific gap within the Byzantine Catholic Church in America.

I, myself, am a convert, and was recieved into the bosom and unity of Holy Mother Church in Easter of 1998, at the ripe age of sixteen. Though I attend a Latin parish, I have always been fascinated with Eastern spirituality, attending Divine Liturgy at a local Orthodox parish frequently throughout the year. However, God is merciful and kind. A Byzantine Catholic Mission is soon to be started in my immediate area, and will first celebrate Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos. I beseech each of you to pray that this holy endeavor will blossom. If any of you would like to contact me, my e-mail address and web page will be included at the end of this message.

May Almighty God bless you and keep you, and may Our Lady, the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, protect you within the very folds of her mantle.

Christopher
