Your prayers please as we had another victim of the "sniper" here.

The "sniper" has shot 11 and killed 9.

The lastest victim was loading packages into her car with her husband. She was standing under the concrete roof of the parking garage.

You're prayers that this "person", and I use the term VERY LOOSELY, is caught and brought to justice for the lives he's(grammatical form) taken and for the pain and suffering he has brought to so many families and to this community!

Let us pray for the latest victim and her family and all the victims and their families.

May the perpetrator be caught soon.

Please also pray for the folks who are living in the Washington area. Believe me, it is very frightening to live here right now, because even the most mundane daily tasks -- the ones you have to perform, like getting gas and going grocery shopping -- are precisely the most dangerous places to be.

Dear Brendan,

May God protect you and everyone in that area!

May He visit you all with His peace and security ASAP.

Some years ago, I was "on assignment" in a place where there was shooting.

I had never heard the sound of machine-guns before and had no idea, at the time, that fifty calibre bullets were flying just above me.

It was totally unlike any episode of "COMBAT!" I was raised on. Fear gripped me only afterward when I was told I was lucky and what the H___ was I doing there etc.

That fear is with me when I hear about what is going on south of the border and it is a terrible fear - and I'm not even there!

Dear Mark:

I'm this old! I forgot to add my prayers for the latest victim.

News dispatches say that the lady was one of FBI's support personnel who lived in Falls Church, Virginia.

That's the hometown of our Forum's Dr. John, and I wish him and his loved ones safety, peace, and tranquility.

May the lady FBI rest in peace!

Dear Mark and Amado,

Yes, I'm that . . . mature!

I also saw the originals of "Rat Patrol" and an article I wrote on it is being published in a book on that series next year.

Now let's get back to prayer!

We have vays, you see . . .

Let’s pray for those who have been murdered, for their families, and for the sniper (that he see the horror of what he is doing and turn to the Lord in repentance and turn himself into the civil authorities).

Let’s also pray for the victims of the terrorist attacks in Bali, for the ongoing problems in the Mid-East, the Sudan, India and everywhere in the world.

Lord, have mercy!

Dear Friends,

The "Combat!" reference made me reflect on what seems to be the fact that the U.S. is in the thick of war - again who knows whether the sniper is part of the terrorism of this war.

More and more vulnerabilities of our North American society are being exposed. We see how truly helpless we can be. The giant can be brought to heel by the mouse . . .

Prayer and more prayer!

Hi gang

We learned that the woman who was shot was a civilian employee of the FBI, was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy, was expecting her first grandchild anyday now and was at the store buying moving supplies so she and her husband, who was standing next to her when she was murdered, could move into a new home.

We've also learned that the sniper was a mere 40 yrds away this time.

There are more eye-witnesses too. Several have said that the sniper appears to be olive-skinned, maybe Hispanic maybe Middle Eastern(their words not mine). There also appear to be 2 persons, the sniper and a driver.

I pray that the Lord brings this to a halt peacefully without more bloodshed....

I personally would not be surprised to learn that this series of sniper incidents is linked to foreign terrorism. I think it might just be the tip of the iceberg, given where it looks like our country will be going in the next several months. Toronto is looking better and better, Alex....

Prayers that this insanity stop, that the murderers are caught immediately. Prayers for the peace of Christ to be with you all who live in the area, giving you strength in your daily lives!

GLORY TO JESUS CHRIST!
GLORY TO HIM FOREVER!

As I'm sure you all are aware there was another shooting in Richmond on Saturday. The victim is in very critical condition.

At 5:50AM this morning, a 37 yr old bus driver, getting ready to start his "run" was shot and killed.

Please increase your prayers so that this will cease.

thanks...

Selam Aklie,

To paraphrase St Thomas More, "Let her be assured that whatever can be done by prayer, that she can count on us to do."

GLORY TO HIM FOREVER!

Hello Everyone....

Well, we just had another news conference.

It seems that the "Sniper" has left a message, a letter of several pages that contained this post-script..."Your children are not safe at any time or any where..."

Please pray for our children and that they catch this "person" quickly....

Because of the nature of this board, I am NOT writing my true feelings so I ask for your prayers for me so that these feelings are tempered...

thanks!

Let us pray that God will protect his people! I think of all the people of our nation's capital of course. But let us join especially in prayer with the parishioners of Epiphany of Our Lord in Annandale, Va., and Saint Gregory's in Beltsville.

O Lord, save your people, and bless your inheritance. Grant victory to your Church over her enemies, and save your people by your Cross!

Well, it looks like the Lord has answered all of our prayers.

Very early this morning, the State Police arrested 2 men in a rest-area. For whatever reason, they've tied these 2 men to the "Sniper".

They are also looking into the shootings of 2 women in Montgomery, Alabama.

Let us pray that this is the end of this madness.

Indeed I'm sure we all join in these prayers - I cannot imagine what it must be like to have to live in this area at present.

I have to admit though that at present the News service here is rather gloomy about the arrests saying that we should await more news - they are emphasising that though these arrests are believed to be connected to the Sniper it is too soon to say that either is the Sniper.

God bring peace to these troubled people.

May those who have died come into the courts of Heaven. May those who have been injured be healed and be granted long and healthy and happy lives.

May all of their families find consolation.
