Dear Friends, The inevitable happened with news just now of an upcoming election next year. That really does change everything for me. I'm in the process of looking for new employment and working at being self-employed. I ask for your prayers to "pray as if everything depended on God; and work as if everything depended on me." I'm not afraid but intend on going out there and make some money doing what I love doing. Regrettably, that doesn't include posting on this wonderful Forum with you wonderful people! Alex

Alex, I too am in the same situation. I have been out of work for several months and am also trying to go the self-employed road, but it is extremely slow. Something has to happen one way or the other - times are tough. I will keep you in my prayers, along with mine. Good luck and God bless, -Janet

Dear Janet and Dan, I don't know about you, but I already feel God is answering my prayer through the two of "youz guyz!" Alex

Alex you are in my prayers. You too Ms. Rotelli. Ms. Rotelli have you talked to your local SBA? They might be able to help you with finances & networking. Here, locally there is not only SBA but a business alliance that helps out local businesses also classes on "Starting your own business" and some times womens groups will help a fledging business, perhaps they have these types of groups in your area.

Dear Friends, Thanks for your prayers and help! They are really stirring up things, as I've already been approached by two potential employers. I'll be contacting you soon, Danny Boy And, yes, Administrator, "She Who Must Be Obeyed" to be sure! Who says religious people don't have a great sense of humour? Just sharing this here and praying about it is very liberating - and empowering! Baruch haShem Adonai! Blessed be the Name of the Lord! Alex

Dear Mark, Yes, but please do gather up those droplets of 'sweat!' I understand St Nicholas is also the patron of work, since he really did a "job" of scolding that father who wanted to give his three daughters into prostitution to raise their dowry. (That is one job I'll never get into, by the way. I just don't have the stamina.) Alex

Dear in Christ Alex, I shall offer up many prayers for you and your family in this time as well as remembering at the LIturgy and Services. You are an invaluable presence here and would deeply miss your contributions carried out with charity and intelligence. Peace, Brian PS. I'm also praying for an NDP Government in Canada

Dear Brian, Yes, I can't comment on (secular) politics as I'm supposed to be neutral. If an Eastern Rite NDPer reads anything I'd say on that score, I'd be in trouble . The most I'll say is that they would really appreciate your prayers for their political fortunes right now . . . And thank you for your kindness. I've not always been charitable, as you know. And I stomp my feet like a spoiled brat. But I appreciate being forgiven and for the counsel of the Administrator in helping me become a better human being. Prayer is power, of that there can be no doubt. This thread is the most powerful thread here. It can also be the most dangerous. Be careful of what you pray for, someone once said, for it may come true. Alex
