Dear Friends,

I would ask you to keep the parish of St Volodymyr's Church in Thornhill, Ontario in your prayers as they move forward with the spreading of devotion to Our Lady of Zhyrovitsi and their annual Pilgrimage.

The Pilgrimage took place on Sunday last with three priests concelebrating and the outdoor procession to the Shrine with the mosaic-icon of Our Lady of Zhyrovitsi.

We had a TV crew on hand filming the event and it also marked 30 years of the parish's life.

The Church is being repainted inside and an iconographer will write an Icon of Our Lady of Zhyrovitsi on the wall behind the altar - just as it is in the Church of Sts. Sergius and Bacchus in Rome (right?).

We will set up an association to promote love for this Icon, we've printed small icon cards etc.

Every time there seems to be a roadblock, we pray before the icon of Our Lady of Zhirovitsi, and things get sorted out.

Alex,,

Your wish is our command. Of course I will pray for this. It's a beautiful Icon - how wonderful to have it on the wall behind the Altar.

Now why does this particular Icon do away with roadblocks ???? Hmmmm

Yes. We stayed at that household for a week and it had that icon behind the altar.

I believe a bishop from Canada lives there, but he was gone when we stayed there. I think his name was Bishop Danyliuk or Danylak.

May God bless all the parishioners and pilgrims! May the new icon be an occasion of grace and blessings for all who pray before it!

May Our Lady bless her servants at St. Vlodomyr's. May she intercede for peace, happiness, prosperity and growth in faith and service. May the Church there be sustained for many years!
