As freak accidents go, something happend last night that has really scared me.

At 3:00 a.m. our (electric) stove started spitting flames. The stove was off . It hadn't been used yesterday or recently. One of my cats alerted my husband to the flames. The house was full of smoke. The flames were coming from the broiler. He got the flames put out, and opened the windows to empty the smoke out.

An appliance repair man has come buy, but can't find an explantion. The stove is working fine now. He assures us we don't need to worry.

Pray for us, that it won't happen again, and that we will be protected from harm.

Prayers, prayers, and more prayers! How scary!

I know some people who give fire extinguishers as wedding presents. I hope you have at least one ABC extinguisher in your house.

Thank you Lord for the gift of the little critters you place in our lives, especially thank you from Mary's cat....

Protect Mary and her family from fire, theft, flood, storms, ailments, and accidents of every sort, distress, hardship, curse, and all untoward things. I ask all this in your Name Lord Jesus and I thank and praise you. I love you. Alleluia. Amen!”

My humble thanks to all of you for your wonderful prayers. I know God listens to your prayers.

Last night was uneventful, and the best sleep I've had all week.

Before bed, we brought the icon of St. Michael in the room, to make sure we were safe. My husband blessed the entire house by sprinkling holy water.

We propably should heed your advise and have a Priest bless the house.

Kitty's only consern this morning was: where's the canned cat food.
