Dear Friends,

A happy birthday to His Beatitude Patriarch Lubomyr Husar!

(It was yesterday, I believe.)

Many years, Your Beatitude, on your 70th birthday and all prayerful best wishes!

To apply to you a famous phrase, Lead on, Guiding Light!

Mnohaya i Blahaya Lita Vladyko!
The President of Ukraine has also awarded and condecorated our Patriarch with the order of Jaroslav the Wise.
I wish I had a chance to sing a song for him, like "Baduriste" by Taras Shevtchenko, there is a verse that goes:
...You have wings, you have strength, you can fly.

Dear Lauro,

Speaking of which, an old 19th century icon of St Tarasios written in honour of Taras Shevchenko has been found in Ukraine.

It will be restored and set up for veneration.

The inscription on the back indicates it was written in his honour - the only icon to be ever associated with him and in honour of his patron, St Tarasios Patriarch of Constantinople.
