There was never anything to forgive. I was just attempting to stress the importance of being vocal with our faith.

Dear Administrator,

With respect to this thread, I want to make an argument that it should be shut down at this juncture.

Besides the negativity it involves from all sides, with accusations and ill-feeling, I think one can argue that it is based on what could be called "mistaken assumptions."

The assumption that the Bishops, by the statement that came from their working committee document, think that ANYONE doesn't need the salvation of Christ is clearly wrong.

So we are in fact arguing about something that is just not there.

The Bishops never said that, it was not there intention to say that, and no official doctrinal pronouncement was made.

And it is clear that we are just incapable of discussing this matter in a dispassionate way, myself included.

As it serves no positive Christian purpose, a purpose that you yourself established as something that should be behind every post and thread here, I ask that this thread be closed.

Respectfully submitted, Sir,

Alex

Herein lies the problem. Everything that @Work has posted has NOT been true. It is merely his horrific take on events. Everything needs to be interpreted within the context of the constant teaching of the Church. @Work has not done that. His posts have been those of someone out to expose what he believes to be evil lurking behind every tree and under every rock.

Before this is shut down, to my 2 "opponents":

Please accept my sincere regret that our conversing got out of hand. For me, it ended up being purely carnal.

Even though it may not have looked like, I really am on your guys' side.

I pray that we will have many uplifting conversations in the future.

Alex,

That is a fair request.

@Work started the thread off with no intention of learning about the truth of this working document. He merely quoted a portion out of context, made false accusations and demanded that people respond to them as if his misinterpretation was the teaching of the Church. This is known in most online forums as flaming. It is clear that he has no interest in pursuing truth.
