I am being very selfish asking for prayers for myself I know - but I need them.

I travel down to London on Sunday and fly out to Lourdes on Monday - but this is no fun trip this time

The whole of Tuesday will be spent at the dentist there while I undergo the first stage of a dental makeover - yes sort of cosmetic but it is intended to restore functionality. I have had treatment at home after my accident last year - but it has not been great and I'm not happy with the result - and the French dentist was not impressed either . I will be going out again for 10 days in December too for the dentist to finish the work.

A whole day in the dentist's chair !! and me a recovering dental phobic too - I'm frankly dreading it.

I fly back to the UK on Thursday and will be home by the weekend.

Please would you say a wee prayer for me ?

Dear Anhelyna,

Be assured of my unworthy yet heartfelt prayers that our good Lord and His most Holy Mother will protect you on your journey, comfort you and grant you strength in the dental chair, and that the results will turn out perfectly.

Je vais prier pour vous aussi, Madame Anhelyna! I know how you feel . . . I only go to the dentist when the pain gets so bad that I can't think straight. Then, and only then, does the dental chair seem like an option!

As an accomplice to many a dentist in the Air Force and having an expanded duty lisence myself, I marveled at patients who were able to sit for hours while someone plays around with their hands in your their mouth for extended periods.

I remember a General we worked on, full immdeiate dentures, told him to keep them in - well he never came back Eventually showed up, and had to be put in the hospital. Oh well!

Anyway forgive my ramblings, but listen intently to your dentist and have a good time praying - can't do much else. God is so good!

Prayers for my dear sister and friend, Anhelyna. May she be relieved of her anxiety and may the treatment afforded her be efficacious and painless.

I'll be returning here again in December and again in January to get the work finished - it didnt go quite according to plan - but we'll get there
