I saw my kidney specialist yesterday and was told that my kidney function continues to decrease gradually. He also suggested that I attend a class about dialysis and kidney transplants to prepare myself in case I have to make a decision about those procedures in the future. He did also say that there continues to be a possibility that neither will be necessary, but that he would prefer I do think about what I want to do, just in case. Pray for me as I contemplate this possibility, that I will be given the strength to make an informed decision and the strength to follow through on that decision. Thank you.

Please, everybody, consider signing an advance directive - in lots of states you can do it via your driver's license - to become an organ donor, and tell your family of your wishes.

The bumper sticker I used to see said "Don't take your organs to heaven - heaven knows we need them here."
