Hi Alice

MEDVED means BEAR in Slovak and several other Slavic languages.

Some friends gave me that nick-name because of my size, I'm 6'2" and about 250lbs...

gee, guess it does fit huh....

Byzinroswell - check her profile I think there's the clue there. Also you could try splitting her 'handle' into 3 words - again another clue

Medved - haven't a clue and the same goes for Coalesco

Way back when I joined this forum, my screen name was "fightingirish."

Our astute colleague, Alex, started calling me Columcille. The name stuck.

Everyone has such wonderful names with so many beautiful meanings, I am tempted to change mine.
Problem is that I have a lousy memory lately and by using the same screen name for everything I can keep track more easily.

Unless.......

Hey guys...what's Ukrainian, or Slavonic for "Ladyhawke"?????

My name is rather simple and mundane: "C^tec" (pronounced "ch-tets") is the Slavonic for Reader/Lector. I chose this because I am a tonsured reader. Simple, easy. cool

Now I'm off to enjoy this beautiful sunny day after all this rain!

Slava Isusu Christu!

My friends started calling me Stilts due to my 6'5" height and rather slim frame. Now I have a much more rounded stature, which makes me more of a Post or Pole, but Stilts has stuck.

In Christ,
mikey.

This thread is kind of fun.

(I've been off the Forum for a good week or so because when I tried to get to byzcath, all I got was "URL not found." When I sent an e-mail to the Administrator, he responded that the site was fine and it was an internet problem. I hope no one else has had problems.)

As for my name, it is what I am.

:p
