Brothers and Sisters:
On Monday, we will remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. Among our Eastern Christian people, we have adopted this special day as an opportunity to visit the graves of our parents, grandparents and other family members. The priests go to the cemetaries to bless the graves; we plant flowers and leave behind small pot-shards of burning incense to stand in our places.
Might I ask those who read this thread to stop for a quiet moment and to remember those who have no one to remember them and to pray for them. Although the ekonomia of the Church will include them in the official prayers of the Church, might I ask our friends here to remember all those "who have no one to pray for them".
May the Lord bless those who remember those who died alone.
