WELCOME TO GREAT AND HOLY LENT!

I received three emails today which to me made one picture and I would like to share them with you. I will put parts of each of them together.

1)
from the scriptures:

Even now, says the Lord,
return to me with your whole heart,
with fasting, and weeping, and mourning;
Rend your hearts, not your garments,
and return to the Lord, your God.
For gracious and merciful is he,
slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and relenting in punishment.
Perhaps he will again relent
and leave behind him a blessing,
Offerings and libations
for the Lord, your God.

Blow the trumpet in Zion!
proclaim a fast,
call an assembly;
Gather the people,
notify the congregation;
Assemble the elders,
gather the children
and the infants at the breast;
Let the bridegroom quit his room
and the bride her chamber.
Between the porch and the altar
let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep,
And say, "Spare, O Lord, your people,
and make not your heritage a reproach,
with the nations ruling over them!
Why should they say among the peoples,
‘Where is their God?'"

Then the Lord was stirred to concern for his land
and took pity on his people.

2)
Someone I know was recently given the ‘communication’ to go and speak with an evangelist of a small Christian congregation some few towns over. It is that the evangelist had something (belonging to Christ) to give to him and he had something (belonging to Christ) to give to the evangelist.

During this communication - the one receiving it said back to Jesus “But he is an evangelist and I am a Roman Catholic - there will be things we will not agree upon…”

And the reply came...

"Separated - you are the members of Christ. United in heart and understanding - you are the Body of Christ.”

Naturally - the meeting will be arranged.

My thoughts, for what they are worth....
We are all immigrants - pilgrims in this world, the best way to bring about the healing of the BODY OF CHRIST is to offer up the fireworks of praise and thanksgiving to our GOD for HIS love and mercy poured out upon our land. OUR LAND, whether it is OUR NATION or OUR HEARTS, GOD CAN and DOES heal our land.

Heavenly Father,
Open our hearts (make them like unto THY own) that we will repent of our apathy and slothfulness, for we have sinned against you. Grant us your grace so we will receive YOUR love, peace, joy, and power in our lives Jesus. Grant us hunger and a burning zeal so that we long for YOU. That we may take YOU to YOUR people that we will repent as a nation, turn from our evil ways, and YOU will heal YOUR land. Amen

THEN WE WILL REALLY SEE HIS FIREWORKS!
