The Byzantine Forum also hosts these private forums:

candidates and their wives), the Orthodox Christian
Studies Forum (for currently enrolled students only of the distance education programs
offered by the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America) and
the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Clergy Forum
(for clergy, religious, and clergy wives of that Church). Contact an administrator for

Now that Kliros has had a few weeks on line, I think it is well to remember what our Administrator offered in his thoughts at its beginning:
" We can consider making this a private forum. The difficulty with that is that it would be impossible to determine who is a parish cantor and who is not. For now I will recommend those using aliases to update their profile to indicate their home town (or the town their parish is located in) and to provide their real name and parish with the signature of at least the first post of each thread (i.e., “Jim, Cantor at St. Thomas the Apostle, Gilbert, AZ).
I ask those who do not serve their parishes as cantors to refrain from posting here. I ask the moderators to be ruthless in deleting such posts as well as transferring threads not having to do with chanting the Divine Services to a more appropriate forum.

So far we are meeting with mixed success. We have some users who do not fit the criteria above, but we also have topics that are not necessarily limited in interest to those who find themselves working here, such as liturgical reform.
I will continue to edit offensive posts that serve only to annoy or enflame. I will transfer topics elsewhere, if it becomes apparent that most posts on a given topic are not from cantors, to find the topic a better home. Such is the case with Liturgical Reform Responsibility, which is not limited to service music and its successful delivery. I have moved that topic to the Faith and Worship forum, but it remains on Kliros as a closed topic. Interested posters can continue to discuss this issue by accessing the topic under Faith and Worship, however.
