XB! Dear Chaps, I've been feeling 'in the Paschal mood' for the last few days - the sort where one has has perpetual grin and is humming Paschal hymns almost nonstop. As such, I thought I'd share with you some of what I sang here in Singapore as chanter for the local Orthodox parish. The link to these mp3 files is here There may be found the Paschal Troparion in Greek, Arabic and English (to the Syrian Melody), the Communion Hymn for Pascha (Receive the Body of Christ) in Greek, as well as Plotiyu Usnuv (As a mortal man) in Slavonic, to Galician Chant. More to follow in the next few days, God willing, as soon I am able to convince the guys who did the ison for me to learn the parts of the Tropar and various other hymns! Have a listen, give me advice on how to improve, say a prayer for me and the local parish - that more singers may pop out of the woodwork. in Domino, Edward

Excellent! Plotiyu was brilliant, especially with the drone. Much more tasteful than a version I heard done with a violin from a Canadian parish. I am often the lone singer in the parish. In a way its nice, because if you completely screw up the tone, or don't even know one, just make it up, and if anyone asks, say its Bulgarian or Crimean. It works in parishes where little if any notated music exists. Now, for Plotiyu, all we need to do is de-Russify your pronuncian and Ukrainianize it. BB! -uc
