Dear Friends,

I heartily recommend the Horologion, Book of Hours published by the Nativity of Christ Old Rite ROC Church in Erie Pennsylvania (www.sbpbooks.com).

It is the best and now my favourite horologion for a number of reasons.

It is very user-friendly with all one needs, save for the Psalter and Octoechos, of course.

It is oriented to Reader Services and use by monastics in their cell in the first instance and so is excellent for laity.

It shows us a great insight into Old Rite traditions, their unique beginning for the Nocturnal hour and the triple use of the "Forgiveness service" at three times of the day.

A great liturgical achievement the Old Rite tradition!
