Dear IM, I am not sure what you are referring to in the comments addressed to me. But I am interested in the passage from Fr. Paul Quay. Do you know its source?

djs,

I was perhaps anticipating your comments. Forgive me. The quote is the last paragraph of his article, "The Spiritual Paternity of "Inclusive Language,"" (gotta love the title) which appeared in "The Politics of Prayer, Feminist Language and the Worship of God." Someone has put a link to the book published by Ignatius Press in the Books section of this forum.

Fr. Quay by the way has written one of the best defenses of Humanae Vitae that I have ever read, however, I don't recall the name of that work anymore. It was also in a collection of essays in a work published by IP.

My account of the statements of the former President of the Canon Law Society is not isolated. I could a similar account of one with more ecclesiastical authority.

Professor Thompson,

I thank you for your candidness. It would seem that "Orientale Lumen" was wasted on both the Oriental Congregation and upon our bishops. It doesn't seem that either are really interested in reclaiming our patrimony. When we study our history can't we see this pattern over and over again in our bishop's relationship with Rome?
