Posted below is a link to the Priest's Service Book as translated by Arch. Dimitri of Dallas and the South (OCA). I thought some might be interested in seeing it given the ongoing discussion of liturgical translation here. http://www.sspeterpaul.org/priest.html

All, My apologies, I just checked the link and the the only text available is that of the Divine Liturgy. You can access the DL directly via the link below. http://www.sspeterpaul.org/sjcli.html

I am unsure if anyone is interested, but the Greek Archdiocese's translations for various services can be accessed through this link: http://www.goarch.org/en/chapel/text.asp It may be worthwhile for translation comparison, etc.

It may be worthwhile for translation comparison, etc. This text translates "Philanthropos" as "loving Master", and has "for us and for our salvation" in the creed.

Please note that the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America recently (2005 I believe) adopted an official English translation of the Nicene Creed. The official English translation does state "for us men and for our salvation." That official English translation is available on the GOARCH web page linked above as a separate document. The Nicene Creed contained in the posted version of the Divine Liturgy has apparently not been updated to reflect the official English translation. My understanding is that all Greek Orthodox parishes in America are supposed to use this official English translation of the Creed.

Harmonica Thank you; I did not know that. Here is the official translation: I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages.
Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made.
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried.
And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets.
In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come. Amen. I found it here: http://www.goarch.org/en/Chapel/liturgical_texts/creed.asp
