If I remember correctly there were hints at the beginning of all the discussions on the proposed alterations about some changes in the Rubrics.
Now having lived through all the , for want of a better word or two , messing about with the rubrics of the RC Mass and the fact that as a result, Priests began experimenting themselves all sorts of things crept in, I am concerned that the Eastern Churches do not have to go through this.
Are any changes proposed in the rubrics ?
If so why ?

As to rubrics, here's a thought regarding the translation of them:
Rubrics are not prayer-texts; they are seldom if ever poetic, and one does not expect anyone to sing them (with a few exceptions, when the Deacon or the Ecclesiarch intones a direction, or when the Lector or Canonarch intones the number of the Tone to be used - e.g. "The Prokeimenon in the First Tone")..
As a result, I would suggest that the functional variety of English to be used in translating rubrics should be based primarily on simplicity and clarity. I have nothing against using, for example, "vouchsafe" in a prayer-text, but I would not use it in a rubric unless it is needed to name a specific prayer-text (as in the sentence: "At Daily Vespers 'Vouchsafe, O Lord' comes immediately after the Prokeimenon.").
If there are enough people working on a given liturgical translation, it would make sense to give a specific sub-group responsibility for translating the rubrics, since the criteria are different.

Dear Nicholas - I did not say that rubrics are unimportant - they are quite important. I simply said that since the translation of the rubrics involves different criteria than the translation of prayer-texts, it might be well to have a sub-group translate them. For the rubrics, one wants clarity such that it becomes difficult for anyone to claim he doesn't understand the rubrics.
Just to prove that (like the rest of the human race) I'm not always infallibily consisten, there are a few terms which are traditonal for the rubrics (the names of the vestments are an obvious example) which do require explanation. Ask an advocate of the "new" style what "in mystica"; means; your victim will perjure himself swearing that he doesn't know.
