Thus, while there are standard bows made upon entering the church, I see them made somewhat differently in OCA, ACROD, Greek and ROCOR parishes; any set of rules for lay participation is at least a bit arbitrary. Monastic sources might be of use here, rather than the liturgical books themselves. (I would be very interested, for example, to see if someone can find a Carpatho-Rusyn or Ukrainian source for use in the BCC, rather than simply reprinting rules fromt the Russian Church Abroad or the Old Believers, as I was first tempted to do in response to the original question.)
