After hearing about the movie, "The Nativity Story", and then finding out that the actress who played Mary (Keisha Castle-Hughes, I beleive is her name) is pregnant, would you still see the movie? I've heard mixed comments on the matter. Some say they won't watch the movie because of the actress' personal life, while others say that you shouldn't blame the movie for the actress' actions. What's your opinion?

Yep, I agree. I can't wait to see it. But I was still interested in other people's opinions.

Thank you, Alice, for the great review of this movie. I almost saw it yesterday, but the times were not good for my schedule, but I will see it before Christmas.

I saw the movie yesterday. All in all, I really enjoyed it. I cried when Jesus was born. It really helped me remember the true meaning of Christmas (I'm a visual person, so movies help me "see" things better). I know that sounds hokey, but it's true. However, the movie really didn't flow from scene to scene and/or line to line. At times it felt like the actors were thinking, "OK, this is my next line...". Also, on the way to Egypt after His birth, there was Keisha reciting the Magnificat in the background, which was strange since the visitation with Elizabeth was in the movie. I think it should've been said at the visitation, because Keisha just stood there as the actress who portrayed Elizabeth did all the talking. And Keisha could've smiled a little bit more. But that's OK. There were some more things, theatrical-wise, that bothered me, but this is because I'm a persnickety theater girl. One good thing I enjoyed was the actor who portrayed St. Joseph. He did a great job. And if you are weary to see the movie because of what's happened to Keisha, just go for the Magi---they were so cool. I'm glad a decent movie of the Nativity was made. Especially in a time when Christians aren't the most popular people. Anyway, that's my little two cents. I'll leave y'all at peace now.
Have a Blessed Christmas!!
