And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased!" (Luke 2:13-14 RSV)
Greetings for the Feast to all our posters,
The above words are what the angels gave the meek shepherds that were outside the city of Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago. It is a message within my own heart I take seriously not only now but throughout the year, though at times I seem to forget. The message of peace and good will that should not only be professed with our mouths but also in our lives.
During the last six months, many heated discussions and battles have taken place in this section of the forum, some rightly so and other occasions maybe not so. I believe that it is time to make a truce at least for this feast that had such a heavenly proclamation to all of us. I believe it is time we set aside our opinions and differences and focus on the message of the new-born Christ incarnate for us and our salvation. It is a time we need to be at peace and to approach Him in the peace he brought to us.
Therefore this Nativity Eve and the Feast of the Nativity I am closing this section down to new posts. Posting may resume after the feast on the 26th after 9AM. As we are already in the eve of the feast, your time should be spent in preparations by prayer, by enjoying family, by attending the Divine Services, and what those of the eastern tradition are known also for, our special festal meals. Abide with peace in your heart and your soul. Show it in love as a witness to all. All too soon the feast will be gone and we will be able to resume as normal. Until then let us prepare to Glorify Christ, that He is born and has come for our salvation.
I will post a notice when this section is reopened for new posts. Until then may you all have a blessed feast and may it be special for you and your families.
