Does anyone else find it ironic that as of the feast on which we will be celebrating St. Peter, no other Liturgy will be permitted to be celebrated?

I thought the same thing. But maybe through the intercession of St. Peter, his successor, the Pope of Rome, will intervene. Pray about it!

Dear Carson, How have the other Orthodox churches reacted to the Greek Orthodox in North America using the same phrase? From the GOARCH website I don't particularly like it in either case, but there is certainyl some precedent for what the BCC translators did. And in line with the irony mentioned in the original post: potentially, by June 29 all four Ruthenian eparchies will be using a common Liturgikon for celebration in English, for the first time in 10 years. God grant that this continue, even as we work toward correcting problems with it, and obtaining a concensus with the Orthodox who celebrate in English, Slav, Greek and Antiochean alike. Yours in Christ, Jeff

The difference of course is, that we are in union with Rome and the Greek Orthodox are not. We will be using a common Creed that does not comport with that institued by the Ecumenical Councils of Nicea and Constantinople. Is there any indication whatsoever that the "problems" are going to be corrected? Is there even an acknowledgment that these are problems by those who have the authority to correct things?

And in line with the irony mentioned in the original post: potentially, by June 29 all four Ruthenian eparchies will be using a common Liturgikon for celebration in English, for the first time in 10 years. God grant that this continue, even as we work toward correcting problems with it, and obtaining a concensus with the Orthodox who celebrate in English, Slav, Greek and Antiochean alike. The real irony here is that we had this for 25 years in all the eparchies with the red book. The bishops could easily re-establish this common liturgicon by revolking the inaccurate editions promulgated by Parma and Passaic, revolking the new inaccurate edition promulgated last week, and repromulgating the accurate edition published in 1965. There will be no concensus with the Orthodox who celebrate in English. They look at us and laugh. Want another irony? The Red Book that was just banned is the one that sits on the holy table at the seminary and cathedral in Johnstown. Accurate books are forbidden to us but welcomed by them.
