Dear Fr Lance,
Just because I am Russian Orthodox, does not mean that all that my church has done has been good for the Church. I readily admit that the way that the reforms of Patriarch Nikon were carried out were wrong, and that the Old Rite was just as correct, if not more so than the New Rite, just as I cannot condone the actions of Metropolitan Sergius(Stragorodsky). Patriarch Nikon was deposed for the way that the reforms were implemented and he died alone in a monastery. There are bad characters on both sides of the fence. We have our Sergius and Nikon, you have Iosaph Kuntsevich. But the Church is not dependant on individuals, Slava Bogu, but on the Holy Spirit, which rises above the foolishness of man. If the similarities between the tactics used to foist this "revision" and the actions of Patriarch Nikon are not readily apparent to you, well, be prepared for your own Raskol.
