We are known for being a very visual generation. We watch TV instead of listenint to things on the radio. Now we even have the chance to watch television shows on the internet. So, what is your favorite TV and why do you like it? Does it have a good message? Is it action packed and entertaining or is it comical?

What if you don't watch a lot of TV?

Well, I take that back. My dad is a huge CBS primetime fan, so we watch a lot of action, crime investigation shows. Which is not all bad with me, but once in a while, they start to become the same. He likes to watch CSI: Miami, NCIS, The Unit, Shark, and Numb3rs.

I enjoy action genre movies and some shows. Actually, it's one of my favorite themes. I love the suspense it gives me, and the agony of not knowing what comes next. But some of the above mentioned shows, like CSI and Shark, are not very moral. CSI is set in Miami, where it's fiesta all day long! Beach goddesses, cuban gangs, drugs, money etc. One thing leads to another and someone gets killed usually. I don't like this show the most because of the autopsies, the vivid depictions of how a bullet enters a body (sound effects and all..ewww) and the awful lives the people live. But, good always wins in the end and 9 out of 10 times, they catch the criminal. Shark deals with celebrity court hearings of the dark and dirty lifestyles of the rich and famous. But I enjoy the "creativty" of how Stark wins his cases. He is constantly bending the rules (even to the point of breaking them!). He always wins the case and sends the criminal to jail...when he's not in jail himself.

NCIS, The Unit, and Numb3rs give a different point of view. NCIS is more detective work, which I love. The Unit is top secret missions-Americans getting the Muslim and Communist terrorists. A great adventure, though sometimes the home life gets a little interesting. Some of the wives are my heros though. Numb3rs is neat. Who would think to make a show like this? If you read the synopsis, it tells that the show came from real life experiences. Math to solve crimes: brilliant. And I hate math!

My personal favorites, however, are Wife Swap and Super Nanny. Don't ask me why. It's a real eye-opener to see these families with their sometimes really bizarre lives. I've seen families who live their lives through martial arts, hippy gods, junk food and TV, the Renaissance era, the pirates code, etc. And when they meet their extreme opposite family, funny.

Super Nanny is an interesting show too. This British lady comes in and helps families with out-of-control children. By the end of the show, everyone's happy. I guess I watch it thinking that possibly some of the tips on the show will help me in my future (God willing) if need be.

So that's my long two cents. I was hoping that someone else would answer before I would. But looks like not. I don't have a good feeling that many will post in this topic, because I know some of the ByzanTEENS and they aren't really on this site often. Sometimes other forums just get crazy and we really don't like to be a part of that. But I appreciate the Prayer forum if I need it, and this forum a lot. So thank you for those! Have to go now.

I just started watching Wife Swap and Super Nanny while down at school. I really enjoy Grey's Anatomy. It's one of the only shows that I tune into or tape every week. I know it's not as technical as something like ER or House but I really like it. This is going to sound sad but I also tune into General Hospital every day. I know, I know it's a soap opera! Everyone on there has deplorable morals but I like to think of it as my guilty pleasure and a guide of "what not to do in your life". I've been watching it since I was about 5 at my Grandma's house. I also love American Idol. I really think reality TV is here to stay.

I hope that you all don't mind the middle aged Moderator jumping in here...I can't resist!

I just had to tell you that I, too, watched a certain daytime soap for many, many years because of childhood days at my grandma's house! Perhaps the story lines are silly and pathetic (imagine really living with all that drama?!?), but the actresses and actors are always so pleasant to look at with the latest clothes and hair styles! *wink*

I don't watch much real network television these days (meaning I usually stick to a Food Network Show, Travel Show, EWTN, News, or History Channel, sitcoms from days of old, and even 'Star Trek the Next Generation'--LOL--which is actually quite, quite clean on the morality scale) but I do have one little vice.... 'Desperate Housewives' on ABC! I think that it is soooo much fun to watch...It is really well written, which is unusual these days, it has great twist and turns, the characters are all so different but likeable, and on the scale of being visually morally offensive, (in other words-how graphic do they get), it ranks low in comparison to other shows I glimpse. I even got my college daughter and husband hooked on it!

I think that it is interesting that young adults like watching 'Super Nanny'. I watched it once, and I have to admit that it is a very, very good show! I wish that I could have hired her when my children were young! LOL!

Haha, that's great, Alice. I watch General Hospital, but only when I'm sick. And when that's not on, I watch The Price Is Right! lol. Addicting...

I never got into Desperate Housewives. I used to constantly watch Gilmore Girls until they moved it to another time and I'm now at dance everytime it's on. But I LOVED that show.

Whenever I go to my grandma's house (where she has cabel) I watch HGTV, TLC, and the Food Network.

I think everyone can agree that the Price is Right is the best show every! I used to watch Desperate Housewives all the time before I left for school but now I fogert because Grey's isn't on after it. I must say there are some attractive men on GH. I love watching What Not to Wear and sometimes home design shows on TLC. During the day when I'm not at class and if it's not 2-3 pm I have on the food network. I like to have it on in the background. I actually met Paula Deen and her husband Michael!

Do you know how long the Price is Right has been around?!? A veeery long time, and it is still going strong, I see! (My grandmother used to love watching that too! hehehehe)

I forgot to say that I also enjoy TLC's 'What Not to Wear'.

So who yells at people when they guess a completely outrageous price? I Do! Also, I hate it when they don't know how to spin the wheel. You get the people who don't spin it hard enough and then you get the people who spin it so hard that you don't think it will ever stop and then just when you think it is going to stop, Oh no! It speeds back up again! Ok that last part isn't true but sometimes I think that is going to happen.
I would like to go on "What Not to Wear" just to get top of the line advice and also 5000 bucks to spend on a fabby new wardrobe. Seriously, if poeple gave me that I could not argue with them
