My last two posts on this forum were deleted. I'm detecting anti Orthodox sentiments.

Anything I may say about the BCC comes from my experience as a former member. Now that I'm Orthodox, I'm only pointing out the inconsistencies of the BCC(such as lack of Vespers).

If the tone of my posts seems harsh, it's because I have family in the BCC, and they aren't too happy with what's going on. There is alot of anguish in them and some friends as well over the RDL.

I can only hope the moderators take this into consideration.

I find that criticism is more effective when one criticizes one's own side, so to speak. Or, to put it another way, there is a well-known saying which can be up-dated to read that the inhabitants of crystal palaces should not cast heavy objects at others!

Etnick,

Then you are detecting wrong. Nothing anti-Orthodox here, anti-rude, anti-derisive comments yes. And if you continue to post insulting comments they will continue to be deleted, regardless of your justifications for posting them. Ask your self: If I posted the same about the Orthodox Church would it be tolerated here or on Orthodox forums? I think you know the answer.

Why is emotion not allowed on this board? That's part of human discussion. I participate on an Orthodox board where tempers flare, insults fly, and at the end everyone is still one happy family. If I want boring discussion I'll turn on CNN or MSNBC.

I guess I'll just lurk here for a while. sleep

There is no anti-Orthodox bigotry here.

There is a strong emphasis on civility and Christian charity in our discourse here. Sometimes tempers flare or our charity is disregarded, and I am among the guilty in that. And then the moderators step in to provide corrective discipline.

Sometimes that requires silence; sometimes that requires stillness, by ourselves or imposed by obedience; and these are qualities which are extolled in the Orthodox praxis, for the quieting of the passions, for the peace in Christ.

Insults fly? I can get riled up over things, as any of many of my posts will show, but insults? sometimes I think that there are a few who are on the express choo choo train to never never land, or just acting like a pithecanthropus, but insults? we have had people here who have directly insulted other people here, and they have been shown the door, as any long timer can attest, but how can you call yourself a Christian if you indulge in calling people names? I can only hope that you, good friend, will avoid calling people names, no matter how they might tick you off. I am second in charge of a site that is primarily youth, and more than once I have had to let people know that insults do not belong.I suspect you are past the age of fourteen, that was the age of the last person I admonished .
Much Love,
Jonn

I've been here for a while now, what 2+ years. They've seen me go from Pyrohy of the True Faith to Orthodox Pyrohy and no one ever one said anything negative about that or me. I don't find an anti-Orthodox feeling here at all.

I like pyrohy made with lekvar - or with cherries. Otherwise, I try not to be sectarian in the matter!
