Can anyone tell me where I might find the list of those who were involved with the changes to the Divine Liturgy? Also, what contribution did Valerie Karras have with the revision? I had seen her name mentioned a few times in these various forums. thank you

See page 3 of the foreward in your new hymn book. There were four of your shephereds total. i am still trying to figure out what they were trying to say. It was very confusing.
My bible study group is still researching what biblical texts that were actually used.

The foreword says this edition was prepared by the Interparchial Liturgical Commission and Intereparchial Music Commission. I wonder who specifically by name.

The foreword says this edition was prepared by the Interparchial Liturgical Commission and Intereparchial Music Commission. I wonder who specifically by name. Committees do a lot for leaders of various institutions. But the four names assigned to the foreward are names of bishops. Ultimate responsibility falls on the shoulders of the bishops. They hold the trump card in decisions, not committees. This is usually the case in many congregations; and I am sure it is the same in the Catholic and Orthodox churches. None of the committee names are in the new byzcath pew hymnal. What are tehse shepherds like? Eddie H.

I will try to duck when the rocks start flying at me, but I will say this anyway. The RDL is so much better than what we had. Granted, some of you may have been privileged to have the full and unabridged liturgy, but that's a far cry from what we were doing. It is wonderful to have the text and music together without having to shuffle the gray paperbound book and the handful of music leaflets we once used. The layout is good, the book is well-designed, and the music seems better. Did I say it is perfect? No. But books do have future editions and corrections can be made over time.

You are safe from any rocks which might have come from this direction - there is no reason why you should not hold and express your opinion on this forum (although perhaps this is the wrong thread).
I served the unabridged Divine Liturgy yesterday, as I normally do. Nobody threw any rocks at me either. Try it; you'll probably like it!

Father Serge and ByzanTN, Christ is Risen! Somehow you have already managed to steer this thread off topic. Neither of your posts has anything to do with the question asked in the opening post. If you want to make commentaries about the celebration or whether or not the RDL is better or if the rocks will hurt you or not , please start a thread(s) dedicated to those topics. In IC XC, Father Anthony+ Administrator
