Indeed He is Risen! I give up, what does your response mean?

The submitted list of members omitted Msgr. Alexis Mihalik, who is still a member.

I believe the "camel" reference is to a joke that is told that a camel is a (horse?) put together by a committee. At any rate, a camel is a very useful animal, and superior to horses in many ways.

Christ is Risen!

Now that we have clarified the reference to camels, I would like this thread to remain on-topic or face closure. Any further clarifications regarding camels, horses, or any other barnyard animals please post it in Town Hall as a new thread.

Christ is Risen!

Here's an interesting quote which should return us to the announced topic of the thread:

Quote:
People do not 'make up' either a language or a liturgy. People learn language and liturgy. Dom Gregory Dix wrote that liturgy is the main activity of Church life and ends by forming the ideas of those who live this life. We do not make the liturgy; the liturgy makes us! The depth and breadth of the classic rites come about because the real creator of these rites is always the Church, and not some particular person, no matter how holy and how gifted that person might be. Still less is the creator of liturgy a committee, no matter how representative, nor a legislator, no matter how wise . . . Good liturgies are not written; they grow. Nobody creates a native language; people learn their native language, as an essential element in their cultural heritage, which exists independently of our desire or preferences, whether we like it or not.

Archimandrite Robert Taft, address to The Encounter of the Eastern Catholic Hierarchs of Europe, Nyiregyhaza, 30 June - 6 July 1997, passage in the precis of Father Archimandrite's paper, Eastern Churches Journal, volume 6, No. 1, p. 34.

Indeed He is Risen!

That's really great.

So what happened between then and the meeting in 1998 in Connecticut? Someone should ask Fr. Taft.
