This link was forwarded to me from Chevetogne Monastery in Belgium. It is of NTV (Russian Television) reporting on the celebration of Pascha there. For those that unfamiliar with the monastery, it is a bi-ritual Benedictine community in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Namur Belgium.

WOW! Long candle!

Is that Orthodox community that lets Roman Catholic use the building for services?

Many thanks for that lovely clip - both the view and the music. I hope that they will do more.

The monastery is well worth a visit - but it's also well to book space ahead of time in the guest-house. There is a separate guest-house which can accomodate ladies.

Christ is Risen!

You had me worried, I think a taste of Cassian and St. Benedict would be good for many to experience...

Oh take it easy, Alex. What's wrong with Benedictines, especially Chevetogne Benedictines?!

Father Anthony,

CHRIST IS RISEN!

Thank you for posting this. It really was quite beautiful.

Have the Chevetogne Benedictines helped to found (or been the inspiration for) any other monasteries of a similar spirit anywhere else in the world?

Also, are there any books (in English) that have been written about them? I'm especially interested in how they practice the Benedictine Rule as a bi-ritual community.

In ICXC,

Gordo
