Since the implementation of the revised Divine Liturgy, I'd be interested in knowing how many parishes that formerly knelt on Sundays are now standing. Also, if there were any left that knelt for communion, has that changed to standing as well?

Also, do your priests now chant or read all the prayers that were formerly taken silently?

And along with that, have your parishes eliminated pre-cut particles and returned to using prosphora and restored the use of warm water?

In my parish kneeling on Sunday is still the norm and my priest chants all the prayers. We had restored zeon many years ago, but still use precut particles.

My parish was typically mixed on Sundays with about 25% standing and the rest kneeling. Since the new books have been in use, most people, I'd say about 90% stand. The 25% that stood before, now, in general, stand during the portions of the Divine Liturgy labeled in the books as "People may SIT."

The prayers are taken aloud with a mixture of chanting and reading, mostly chant, however.

In my parish as well.

I heard from a friend who attends a very Latinized Byzantine Catholic Parish in the Cleveland-area, that their priest addressed the issue of kneeling this way....

"The proper posture is to stand, but I won't tell you not to kneel."

Very, very clever. Needless to say, most still kneel.

Our pastor said that although it is now recommended that we stand. We will continue to kneel because that is what we've always done.

Well, if "they" get to continue doing what they want, then why don't I get what I want -- the full recension back. Why do the Latinizers get what they want, but the true Byzantines are slapped down in the face of pastoral sensitivity??? I just don't understand this......and that's what's wrong with the RDL -- it doesn't make sense.

Heck, I can't remember when we started in Toledo. It's been a while. At least 2 years, if not more. I thought this was mandated way before the RDL, around the time when they did away with first communions and just give it all at once.
