This, of course, involves descent from pagan gods of one sort or another, most of them rather blood-thirsty types. Being moreover Gallgael (a Scot of mixed Gaelic and Norse blood) I have a goodly number of especially violent characters in my (theoretical) ancestry. In deference to these worthies, I would have to choose a title like Ed Skullcleaver or Mac The Disembowler, which, on the whole, I prefer not to. Edmac

My mother's maiden name was Roche. The Roche's were Normans who came to Ireland in 1066 or so. They were the Lords of Fermoy which is about a half hour from Cork City. I've also heard that Brian Boru has about 6 million descendants. Father Serge can tell us what the population of the Republic of Ireland is and if it is also 6,000,000.
