In Icons, why does St. Seraphim of Serov typically wear a White/Light Grey Podrasnik rather than a Black Podrasnik?

Dear InCognNeat's

This is just a speculative guess, but Saint Seraphim was known to greet everyone with the Paschal greeting "Christ is Risen!". It could be his way of also showing that he is in the Paschal dress that is afforded to some monastics during the Paschal season, yet was his everyday attire.

In IC XC,
Father Anthony+

I believe it is due to his unusual devotion to the Resurrection. It is said he always used the greeting: "Christ is risen!" no matter what time of year it was. I believe he wore a white podrasnik in honor of the Resurrection year round as well.

Thank you Fathers! I have been wondering for quite some time. Up until now the only guess that I have heard is, "It must have been hot where he lived."

Your explanations make sense. Thank you very, very much.
