Please pray for our dear brother Marian. He has let me know that he is in the hospital for heart problems and has requested your prayers. He anticipates a hospital stay of 2-3 weeks.

In his typical Marian style he asked me to remind you all that no ecumenical dialog can succeed without love for one another.

God bless you all and have a merry Christmas!

Jason

Heartfelt prayers for our brother in Christ, Marian.

He went to a monastery for quiet and contemplation, and he has now found himself extremely ill with serious heart and blood pressure problems at this holy season. It is such a shame to see such a young man suffering so and it breaks my heart....

May all attacks upon our long suffering brother be rebuked in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

May the intercessions of St. Nektarios and St. Panteleimon heal him and bring him to better health quickly.

Lord have mercy on Marian, someone who I consider a good friend.

Humbly in Christ,
Alice

May the Lord heal His servant, Marian, and return him to his family in order that he might praise the Lord's Holy Name all the days of his life. AMEN.

In Romainia it is a custom or tradition for someone who is very sick, that the people pray the Psalms for them. That means a lot to Marian. So if, you have time tomorrow at Church, pray a few of the Psalms for him. biggrin

Marian if you see this, tonight Fr. Deacon Stan was praying with someone tonight that has a brain tumor. The message from our Lord, was very clear in letting them know that we are called to pray with one another in Words and Psalms, in praise and thankgiving, for all He has done.

Just a little confirmation for you about praying the Psalms. Love you Brother!

My priest just this week was talking about ST Elizabeth of Russia who near her death was using her own clothes to bandage others. I'll pray to her for Br Marian. May she minister to him in his hour of need.

It sounds like St Nectarios is good for pretty much anything. I just got an icon of him and a kids book about him for my goddaughter. It seems like everone loves him and I hope she will too.

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

Dear friends,

I received word from Marian today that he is being transferred to a hospital in Bucharest. He requested to be sent home instead but his Dr refused and insisted he remain hospitalized. Beyond this I have no further details. However, Marian indicated that he is hopeful of full recovery.

God Bless you all and thank you for your prayers!

Jason

It is good that Marian wants to go home.

It is better that he sees a full recovery.

It is also good that the Doctors are cautious.

May the Lord heal His servant Marian.

ADDENDUM:

After I got home today from our "Family Christmas in the Mountains" excursion, I found a message on my computer that Marian had sent PRIOR to the info given a few posts up. Apparently before the doctor told him NO, he thought he was to go home on Friday to recoup. Regardless, the rather lengthy note was very upbeat and positive. He said the retreat in the mountains had more or less been, if not a mistake, a real awakening for him in regards to his physical health. I think he has come to the conclusion that the ascetic lifestyle will not work for him if he cannot get his physical health under control...even then I wonder.

At any rate, Marian seemed content and happy. So, God be praised!

Jason
