Does anyone know if their are any Byzantine Catholic Churches or Missions in Kansas? The only one I found is supposed to be a Mission Church associated with Newman College but it's web link is broken. There is no new link found through Google. Are there any practicing Byzantine Catholic or Orthodox Christians near Lyons Ks (my home) who are willing to meet for prayer, study and discussion. I currently attend St Paul Catholic Church, a Roman Rite Church, in Lyons. Due to price of gas and work schedule I am looking for something close. Thanks in advance for any replies. Your little brother in Christ, Marion Latiolais

I believe Diak is from Kansas and is a member of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic church. You may want to send him a private message. It looks like he last posted on the forum on March 27th.

See Byzantine Ruthenian Community of Lawrence. I don't have details as to Liturgy schedule, etc, but there is a contact number.

Many years,

Neil

Neil,

Thanks for posting the information about the Byzantine Catholic Community of Lawrence. I was also wondering if there were any Byzantine Catholic Churches or missions in Kansas, because I'll be moving there soon for college. It's good to see that there are some.

God bless and keep you....

Interesting. I didn't know about that. I'll try to call the contact number; if anyone else gets to it before I do, please post the times?

Thanks!

We have Great Vespers every Saturday evening (9th Hour, 5 p.m. and Vespers immediately following) and Divine Liturgy usually once a month on Sunday afternoon in Topeka. A website is under construction. This is an apostolate of the Eparchy of St. Nicholas.
