I don't recall hearing anything about married clergy while at Uniontown. I have no doubt that eventually all will be straightened out; likely we are simply awaiting Rome's official OK, despite us being able to make decisions for ourselves. Once this clears, the next hurdle will be to actually put programs in place FOR married persons in seminary, as well as working out logistics of housing, benefits, insurance, salaries.....all of these things come with every ordained cleric. Will each Eparchy cover a Pani and kids for health insurance? So many things to think about, I could go on and on, but not right now.

Ken: Liked your response, I dont think this will be a big problem at all (unless it is made into one) as far as housing, welp, most churches have a good sized rectory attached to them, insurance, most polices can be expanded to insure a spouse or kids espeically in "group" policies (which I would imagine the Epharchy has to save money)and benefits, well, that could be taken up with the individual churches as it was done years ago. Most churches (Orthodox, Protestant and Jewish) have all of these things in place and they seem to be doing well. I sure would have no problem donating to a "fund" for the Matuska or "Pani", would be a nice refreshing idea for me and, many of the wifes of priests are Choir directors, sure saves the fee for that expense, especially when trying to get someone during the week to do a funeral. Enjoyed your comments.
