I am a Catholic of both Eastern and Western rite who began creating liturgical art in 1985. I "discovered" Holy Icons in 1989, and slowly learned of how profound this visual theology is. An amazing and extraordinary event occurred during this time: the small chapel of my parish complex began a Byzantine Catholic community. During this time I began to worship in both rites, and this had changed my preference in liturgical art from the fabric applique art to the Iconography of Eastern Christianity.
