Fr. Thomas (my son-in-law's) father has received a preliminary diagnosis of liver and lung cancer. They are taking more tests to make sure this week. Please remember Fr. Tom and his family in your prayers. He is a retired Orthodox priest who lives in Alaska.

with gratitude.

O Lord our God, Who by a word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every sickness and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to Your priest servant Fr. Thomas and cure him of every sickness of which he is grieved; and send down upon him Your great mercy, and if it be Your will, give to him health and a complete recovery; for You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You do we send up Glory: to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Both now and forever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, through the prayers of St. Nectarios, St. John of San Francisco, and the Most Pure Theotokos have mercy on thy Priest Tom and grant him health and salvation.

Update: Sad news is that...

Fr. Thomas, the Orthodox priest who my grandchildren call Papa, (the other grandfather) tests show that he has stage four lung cancer. The doctors give him 4-9 mos. It has spread to the liver as well.

porter...thankful for your prayers

Prayers for God's servant, the Priest Thomas. May he be free of pain and not suffer in these final months.

Prayers also for my dear sister and beloved friend, Mary Jo, and all of her family as they go through these trying times.

Thanks, Neil, and all who are praying here for Fr. Thomas (Bill). He and his wife talked to hospice people last week about making arrangements for hospice help with his terminal care when that time comes. They aren't going to do radiation or chemo which is a good thing. I think their single son in his thirties will be moving in with them to help her the last few months and she is a nurse herself.

He lives in Alaska so not near here at all; but we know he is in good hands.

peace and blessings...

Porter

Update. Fr. Thomas and Matuska Lynn are doing well despite the tests showing that the initial diagnosis of cancer was accurate. Actually it is inspiring to me that they are "in faith" planning a cruise and a visit to the Holy Land in September. Please pray his life (here) is extended and they are able to do that.

Holy God,
Holy Mighty One,
Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on them.

Thank you.
