I like your bonus reason. That was the clincher for me. I rejoiced over the TLM as we experienced it at St. John Cantius. I adored the Orthodox DL as we experienced it in Evanston and Palos Heights. But both represented a Christianity not in communion wth the other and it appeared that they might not become so at least in my life time. When we discovered a Church that embraced both the DL and offered it with beauty and integrity and demonstrated a love and obedience to the Pope of Rome we knew we were home.

Regarding the "Bonus Reason":

Bear in mind what my UGC parish priest told me nearly half a century ago: "Bridges are made to be walked on."

Given Rome's treatment of the Eastern Churches over the past centuries, it seems clear that some Romans have not just "walked" but trampled on their Eastern brothers and sisters.

Now, now lets not be whinners but winners.
You are a son or daughter of God, so stand up, and live out your dignity as such.

I became Ruthenian Catholic because of the beauty of the Divine Liturgy and the spiritual depth of the Byzantine doctrinal tradition.

Apoutheon,
Could you share with us some of the elements of the "Byzantine
doctrinal tradition" that particularly impressed you with their
"spiritual depth"?
