The Melkite church and UCC as a whole seem to encourage the idea of the joining and governing of the churches by, for example with the Melkites the orthodox church of antioch. What impact do you think this (if it came about) would have on a grass roots level? Does anyone have any ideas as to wether if there are prahaps 2 or 3 Churches (because of the merge) in a small parish wether one may be liquidated in order to focus more effectivley financially and as a community that would now include more people than before?

I hope that I am making at least a little bit of sense here.

Kind of a cart before the horse answer, but......

...were such a reunion to happen, this would be best left to the bishops and the parishes. That said, if there was an Antiochian mission on 1st street and a Melkite mission on 2nd street, I think it'd make a lot of sense for them to merge.
