This issue only comes up occasionally in the First World because of Protestant influence there.

Those who share my own discomfort with the prayers which follow child-birth are welcome to use my solution - offer those prayers in some language which the mother is wildly unlikely to understand. This may sound crazy, but the prayer is soothing and the words cannot offend if they are not understood.
