I was diagnosed with lumbar spinal stenosis. Right now having treatments and hoping not to have surgery. It can get pretty debilitating and comes and goes. Means that osteoarthritis of my spine is the culprit. Most likely due to an old injury from many years ago when I fell cross country skiing on my back on a hard surface. Then I am 71 and this is pretty common among my peers..or something like it.

I hope to attend a high school reunion this weekend and need to feel good enough and strong enough to care for my grand children while their parents fly North to a funeral next week. They are good kids..and 10 and 12 so can help me as will my husband. Still..hard to do things sometimes.

Thanks to anyone who will take a moment to remember me in your prayers.

porter..Mary Jo

Lord have mercy! AMEN!

and that you will feel well enough to go to your high school reunion... smile

I have had recurring back pain problems since a decade ago and I fully well know how it limits one's movement and activities.

May you heal soon!

Perhaps a little be-lated on my part ... but past / present /future are all one to God. He can reach into the past as well as reach into the present.

My heartfelt prayer is for you.

May God lighten this burden from you so that you may continue to be active in loving and caring for your family and friends.

May he make note of the many virtues he has helped you gain.

May he allow you rest in this matter.

May he show himself to you so that you may love him yet even more and all the more rest in his comfort.

May it be done for my friend porter.

Update: I had the last treatment and the pain from that took a few days to diminish. Didn't make it to the reunion; but, hopefully will make the next one next time. Good news is that I am much better this week and even up to taking care of the grandchildren while their parents fly to their grandfather, (not my husband) but the other one..funeral in Alaska. So the treatments are helping. Next is extended PT, I think!

I even made cookies. (Really, I'm not the cookie making Granma type..but then...) Thanks for your prayers..nice to see Ray in this section again.

peace and blessings to my friends on The Byzantine Forum.

Dear Mary Jo,

I am glad that you are feeling a bit better. Everything happens for a reason, so it seems that it was not God's will that you go to this reunion.

Be well. May God continue to heal your pain...
