One reason the Roman Church [sometimes] accepts as Grace-filled (valid) the baptism performed by non-Christians is the story of St. Genesius: http://highchurchdrifters.blogspot.com/2008/08/feast-of-st-genesius-august-25th.htmlObviously there are exceptions because the Church does not accept as valid baptisms of Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons.

I believe that this would be, at the least, considered a baptism by blood and of desire, by any account.
