Thanks for sharing this and for the reminder. I envy you that you had him as a teacher; I was a fan and admirer. I read, back when, and was enthralled by both his books, The Death of Christian Culture
and The Restoration of Christian Culture
, and still have my copy of the latter (the first was out of print at the time). I still recall his description of a visit with his students to the Benedictine Abbey of Fontgombault, France.
In refreshing my memory of him, I ran across this:
