Welcome Lather, glad you have joined us.

At St. George, in Birmingham Alabama, we have had FATHER ELIE EID come to us from Lebanon.

We don't fuss much, unless someone makes fun of our 'chocolate' appetites. biggrin The favorite food on byzacath. So everything else we are easy going about.

God bless you Lather!

Christ Is Risen!

Welcome, my Melkite sister. I hope you'll find us every bit as good a place to learn about your Church as your friend suggested we would be. Likewise, we will learn from you, I'm certain.

Many years,

Neil

Lather,

There are about a dozen Roum Catholique who post here regularly - the ones who come to mind immediately (hopefully, I haven't forgotten someone) are:

Bernardo is in Mexico (he's Latin, but has been worshipping in a Melkite parish for a long time)

Collin Nunis is in Australia

DewiMelkite (David) is on the US west coast - California (he's originally from Wales in the UK, though)

Eli is in Haifa

Father Deacon Ed is also on the US west coast - California

Ghosty is also on the US west coast - (State of) Washington (he's Latin, but has worshipped at a Melkite parish for a long time now)

Matta (Deacon Matta) is in Australia

Pani Rose (Rose) is in the southern US - Alabama (she and her family are actually Ruthenian Greek-Catholic, but there are no Ruthenian parishes anywhere near them and they attend a Melkite parish, where her husband, a Ruthenian Deacon, serves)

Penthaetria (Alicia) is in the southwestern US - Arizona

Philippe Gebara (Philippe) is in South America - Brazil

SamB is in Lebanon

StuartK is on the US east coast - Washington DC

and I'm on the east coast also - Massachusetts

We also are blessed with folks from most every other Eastern and Oriental Church, Catholic and Orthodox, as well as several of our Latin brothers and sisters.

Many years,

Neil

Cool Neil, I didn't realize there were so many.

Matta has worked really hard at publishing the Melkite Readings of the Day online at
http://www.melkites.org/en/readings.php

It is another good place to learn about your faith. I sent his list out to my parish, and have gotten quite a few thank yous. They really love the work he has done, especially the moms. They say it is so nice to just be able to 'quickly' click and read what today is about in all their hurridness of the day.

SO THANK YOU MATTA!
