James,
Continued prayers for the formation and success of the mission. As soon as more details are available as to location, contacts, etc, please post them (and if you don't see me comment on the posting, please PM to call it to my attention) - I will add the info to the site's mission listing and include an entry for it in the Directory.
Many years,
Neil

Greetings,
I hope this message finds you all well. My name is Harrison and I am theology graduate student at Ave Maria University in Florida, but I am originally from Oklahoma City. I joined this forum particularly because I stumbled upon this thread. I have started RCIA, but I have come to discover my heart really belongs to the East. I have several Protestant friends in Oklahoma who are also interested in Eastern Catholicism. Whenever any information is available about a Mission there I would love to know, pass it on, and do whatever I can to help.
Also, I saw the Chapel of the Theotokos mentioned. If anyone attends there, you might remember several students from Oral Roberts University attending a few times last winter - those were my friends and I.
Thank you

Harrison,
Welcome to the forum. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have; we'll all do our best to answer them.
Many years,
Neil

Thank you all for the welcome,
My liturgical experience is quite scarce, I've participated in a few Divine Liturgies at the Chapel of the Theotokos in Tulsa, Oklahoma and at St. Paul's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Naples, Florida. There are several Ukrainian parishes about an hour away from me and one small Melkite parish in Miami. Also, next semester I will be attending a class by an Eastern Priest from North Port, Florida (St. Mary's) on Eastern Catholicism. My best friend here is from the Melkite parish in Washington DC, this is sadly my extent, but it has been enough to spark a deep interest.
As far as questions go, I would love to know what literature any of you would recommend to me. I have read nothing that is wholly Eastern, so I am sure there are many good and foundational works I am missing out on.
James,
I want to help, let me know the best way possible. I know of a few people in OKC and a few in Tulsa that would be interested. Mainly FSSP Latin Catholics and Protestants who are interested in the Catholic faith. I'm sure some would just love to grab coffee and talk about the Faith. Would an email list be good? Let me know.
Thank you, HH

Harrison,
Just so as not to derail this thread from its focus on getting a mission going in OK, I'd suggest that you copy and paste your opening paragraphs into a new thread in the Faith & Worship forum.
Many years,
Neil

James, I'll add this to the mission page here and to the directory this weekend. If you could e-mail a reminder to me at ec_parish_webmaster@yahoo.com, it would be a service to my overtaxed memory. Many years, Neil

James,
Delighted to hear that there were some new attendees. I gather that there isn't yet a fixed place in which to worhip?
Many years,
Neil

St. Nick may visit as well, if your good... Irving, TX and Tulsa (Tulsa usually has the DL on Saturday Evening I think?? So why don't ya carpool here?) people are invited. Everyone else is also invited.

We will be celebrating an Emmanuel Moleben, which is a service of prayer for the Christmas Fast on December 16 at 6:30 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church on NW 82nd St in Lawton, OK. I know this Moleben is used in Passaic, Parma and Phoenix Eparchies. Who composed this Moleben? U-C

I believe Archpriest Conrad Dachuk of the Eparchy of Toronto (UGCC) is the original compiler. It has been widely borrowed from his original text. Duzhe djakuju, D'jak! U-C
