He was half Czech, half Serbian. I wonder what religion he was raised in. He was also married to the same woman for 70 years! Eternal Memory and may God grant comfort to his loved ones.

There are a number of references on the net to his being Serbian Orthodox.

A long life, such a good actor. Memory Eternal!

That makes five, sadly.

Karl Malden was among the few actors whom I would never miss the opportunity to see. I read comments about him that described his consummate ability to portray 'every man' - to bring reality to roles that themselves lacked glamour and make them memorable - how very true.

May this gentle man, who gave pleasure to so many and did it without hint of scandal in an industry where shock value is often the tool to achieving success, be at blessed rest and may his memory be eternal.

May the Theotokos give comfort to his loving family and, most particularly, to the woman with whom he shared a marriage the length of which was a lifetime for most.

I thank God for this wonderful actor who graced the stage and the big and little screens for years. I especially loved him with Michael Douglas (then very young) in the series on TV... The Streets of San Francisco

Praise God for his life, committment to his wife and family, and the example he was to others in his profession.

May his family, friends, and fellow actors be comforted.
