Karl Malden was among the few actors whom I would never miss the opportunity to see. I read comments about him that described his consummate ability to portray 'every man' - to bring reality to roles that themselves lacked glamour and make them memorable - how very true.
May this gentle man, who gave pleasure to so many and did it without hint of scandal in an industry where shock value is often the tool to achieving success, be at blessed rest and may his memory be eternal.
May the Theotokos give comfort to his loving family and, most particularly, to the woman with whom he shared a marriage the length of which was a lifetime for most.
