What are your impressions, thought, experiences with Bishop Basil?

God grant him many good and productive years.

He seems to me to be a wise and balanced bishop. He is usually a good homilist as well. He is cordial and approachable. At least these are the impressions I received from meeting him on occasions, the last of which was at the ordination of the new bishop of Van Nuys.

God grant him many years!

By the way what about Father Kudrick, who has been appointed to be bishop of Parma? He seems like a good priest also. The Lord bless Him and guide him as well, and grant him many years!

"...a wise and balanced bishop. He is usually a good homilist as well. He is cordial and approachable."

Very approachable, indeed. I would add that he is a good listener, a respecter of persons, humble, and deeply spiritual in a Franciscan kind of way in that he seems a bit self-conscious when wearing the trappings of his office.

"Many years!"

Dear Friends,

I listened to Bishop Basil's Christmas homily, recorded on the Parma website, last year and thought it was very good. I think printed it out to show someone else, who also found it inspiring.

May he be blessed with many years of fruitful ministry.

Both Metropolitan Basil and Bishop-elect John are down-to-earth, regular guys. They drink beer, watch football, you can joke around with them, what more could you want? smile Both are very approachable as others have mentioned. They are both excellent homilists and good administrators and listen to what others have to say. I have served with both and you can sense a deep spirituality and love of our Lord and His Church in them. I must say I am very pleased. God grant them both many years.

In Christ,
Lance, deacon candidate

"Djakuju Kransa!"

I hope that our newly-elected Archiepiskop'-Mitropolit' Vasylij and newly appointed Eparch for Parma Vladyka Ioanna will have the courage and fortitude to restore the authenic rank of married clergy as was promised to the Rusyn Greek Catholic Church over 356 years ago at the signing of the Union of Uzhorod which will truely end the most horrid Latinization of the Ruthenian Metropolia!!

Bishop-elect Kudrick is a phenomenal priest. A good listener and very approachable. I've known him for 16 years and was a parishoner of his at the Cathedral from 1998-2001. He's also an amazing administrator. He used to teach math and computer science at the university level.
